Dioon
is a very stylish doe that we were honored to add from One
Oak Hill. She is a maternal sister to GCH One Oak Hill Tweed
Diva *M who was best udder at the Nationals that is owned by
Kastdemur's dairy goats. Dioon was undefeated in 2004
going GCH and BOB everywhere shown, including both rings at
KY State Fair and one BDIS. In 2005 Dioon was 4 x's
GCH, including both rings of the Hoosier Classic and ring 1
at KY State Fair. Dioon is correct throughout,
excelling in sharpness and openness of rib, very silkey
hided--truely a dairy animal. Her LA break down had many E's
including head, shoulder assembly, rear legs, back, and
rump. Mike thinks she is the "most dairy goat on the
farm and the most honest". Her udder is very well
attached and milks down to nothing. Dioon was 1st
place aged doe at KY State Fair in 2006, 2nd / 1st
udder at
NAILE and 14th at Nationals and still produced
over 3000lbs of milk as a six year old!! In 2008 Dioon
was 7th place Aged doe at Nationals.
We
are thrilled with her son and daughter by
Tumult in the herd. Dharma, who topped her class most
every time out in 2007 and LA'ing 88 with an E
mammary. Dharma earned 2 milking legs in 2008 and has
scored 89 as a three year old. Son Denali has thrown
some very beautiful and consistent kids as well as LA'ing 89
himself. Dioon's gorgeous Berretta daughter,
DeLanie appears to be following in the same pattern and was
1st at the large NAILE show in 2007 and Jr GCH in 2008
her only time out! Dioon's triplet doelings by Magic were
lovely, two were retained here. One, Magic Desire, was
4th place Intermediate kid at the 2008 National
Show.
We
used Dioon as part of our flush program in the fall of 2008
and were very lucky to have 5 buck kids and 3 doe kids born
from this sired by *B Shady Lawn T. Berretta. We
retained one of the doe kids Derby and just love her!
Dioon took the rest of the year off but we hope to get her
back in the swing of things in
2010. |
